Terms and Conditions

My Edu Blog is a online classroom blogging tool provided free of subscription or purchase charge by EZ Web Page Designs, a consulting firm providing information and services for educator and education agencies.

Terms of Use

This blogging service is intended for classroom use. Blog accounts are established and maintained by the classroom teacher. Teachers may use this service for professional blog publishing functions, and to manage and publish student writings intended for assignment-based instructional activities. The teacher is responsible for observing any and all school and district policies regarding student publications and management of student work.

This blogging software service is not intended for students to establish or maintain accounts. Students do not have EZ Web Page Designs's permission to establish My Edu Blog accounts and EZ Web Page Designs reserves the right to remove any blogging accounts on our system for any reason.

If you are not a teacher, professor, school leader, librarian or professional currently employed by an educational institution, then you may not establish a My Edu Blog Account.

Students may participate within their educator's blog, provided that the student's instructional supervisor maintains control and responsibility for all student activities, including: blog postings, comments, and any and all other communications.

Educators may add students as classroom users of their classroom blogs. Teachers may not, however, establish students blog accounts, independent of the teacher's control or responsibility.

EZ Web Page Designs follows the guidelines of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 2000. Adherence to COPPA requires that students participating within a teacher controlled class blog who are under the age of 13 do not make available any individually identifiable information about the child, including, but not limited to: full name, home address, e-mail address, or telephone number.

EZ Web Page Designs is not responsible or liable for anything posted or information exchanged within your Classroom Blog. The educator agrees to communicate and participate at the educator's own risk.

Educators may allow posting of comments to their site's content. All postedings and comments must be approved or monitored by the educator.

It is the educator's responsibility to ensure personal information is not being used when approving student postings and comments to go "live" on their site. The comments feature on each Community site asks for users to leave their name if they post a comment. As a registered user it is the educator's responsibility to have students use pseudonyms or other non-identifying techniques. Educators should not post content that might solicit private information from students. (See COPPA Guidelines).

Security

EZ Web Page Designs has taken reasonable steps to assure the security of all content entered into My Edu Blog.

No computing environment can be 100% secure. Therefore, use My Edu Blog at you own risk. EZ Web Page Designs provides no warranty and assumes no liability.

Take every precaution to protect your login information and your personal data. Do not share your access codes with others. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Copyright Policy

All text, files, images, videos, music, sounds, software, logos, charts, layouts, designs, and information, as well as the underlying coding associated with each web page found on My Edu Blog are the intellectual property of EZ Web Page Designs, unless otherwise noted.

By accepting these conditions and using My Edu Blog, you agree that EZ Web Page Designs and other intities associated with My Edu Blog are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages (including for example, lost profits and damages from loss of use) resulting from using My Edu Blog, unless the exclusion of such damages is precluded by law. By accepting these conditions, you agree to assume all risk and liability resulting from the use of My Edu Blog, including the risk of breach in the security of our system.

Conduct on our Sites

You are responsible for your behavior and conduct and the behavior and conduct of your students while using any aspect of My Edu Blog. EZ Web Page Designs retain the right to edit or delete any part of the content that is published, displayed or distributed on the site. You also agree that neither you, nor your students, will

1. harass or stalk other users, that is, you won't insult them or send them unwanted messages,
2. impersonate any other person or identify yourself as anyone else,
3. use vulgar, abusive or offensive language while using My Edu Blog,
4. post material that could reasonably be considered defamatory, libelous, threatening, obscene or vulgar, offensive to racial or ethnic sensibilities or otherwise objectionable,
5. use My Edu Blog to gather any type of personal information from other people, such as, for example, email addresses, or use My Edu Blog to post advertising, promotional or solicitation material. In addition, EZ Web Page Designs will not permit any conduct that it believes will keep others from using or enjoying the site.

Using My Edu Blog indicates that you accept these terms. If you do not accept these terms, do not use this service. EZ Web Page Designs reserves the right to add, renew, or change these terms at any time.

These Terms take immediate effect to any educator who currently holds an account on My Edu Blog, even if the educator is not aware of these terms.
